I create this handmade rustic plate collection from black stoneware clay, inspired by the raw textures of Ottoman copper shallow dishes. The bowls, which you can use for serving dishes such as salads, pasta, or meze, are crafted entirely from hand-rolled, shaped, and burnished clay slabs, and achieve their final appearance through the hand-distressing of the slip coating. Therefore, no two pieces are exactly alike.
The handmade patterns on the bowls are both unique and form a surprising sense of unity when brought together.
More pieces and colors will be added to the collection seasonally.
Care for Your Rustic Bowls
All bowls are handmade. For this reason, slight variations in size, shape, color, and glaze may occur compared to what you see in the pictures, making each piece unique and one-of-a-kind. All bowls are made using non-toxic, food-safe clays and glazes. They are microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe. I especially recommend minimizing the contact of the unglazed surfaces of your ceramics with staining foods or drinks.
