I create this collection of handmade rustic plates using black clay, inspired by the raw textures of Ottoman copper dishes. These plates, which you can use for serving foods such as pasta, appetizers, or breakfast items, are made entirely from hand-rolled, shaped, and burnished clay slabs and achieve their final appearance through hand-distressing. Therefore, no two pieces are identical.
The patterns on the plates, which are also handmade, are both distinct from one another and create a surprising harmony when brought together.
More pieces and colors will be added to the collection on a seasonal basis.
Care for Your Rustic Plates
All plates are handmade. For this reason, slight variations in size, shape, color, and glaze may occur compared to what you see in the pictures, making each piece unique and one-of-a-kind. All plates are made using non-toxic, food-safe clays and glazes. They are microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe. I especially recommend minimizing the contact of the unglazed surfaces of your ceramics with foods or drinks that may leave stains.
