I create my handmade rustic plate collection from black clay, inspired by the raw textures of Ottoman copper dishes. These plates, which you can use for serving foods such as salads, appetizers, and breakfast items, are made using clay slabs that are entirely hand-rolled, shaped, and burnished, and they achieve their final appearance through manual distressing. Therefore, no two pieces are identical.
The handmade patterns on the plates are both distinct from one another and create a surprising sense of unity when brought together.
More pieces and colors will be added to the collection on a seasonal basis.
Care for Your Rustic Plates
All plates are handmade. For this reason, slight variations in size, shape, color, and glaze may occur compared to what you see in the pictures, which makes every piece unique and one-of-a-kind. All plates are made using non-toxic, food-safe clays and glazes. They are microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe. I recommend minimizing the contact of the unglazed surfaces of your ceramics with foods or drinks that might leave stains.
