I create this handmade rustic plate collection from black clay, inspired by the raw textures of Ottoman copper dishes. These plates, which can be used for serving pasta, appetizers, breakfast items, and more, are crafted using hand-rolled, shaped, and burnished clay slabs, and achieve their final look through a manual distressing process. Therefore, no two pieces are exactly the same.
The handmade patterns on the plates are both distinct from one another and create a surprising sense of harmony when brought together.
More pieces and colors will be added to the collection seasonally.
Caring for Your Rustic Plates
All plates are handmade. For this reason, there may be slight variations in size, shape, color, and glaze compared to those seen in the pictures, making each piece unique and one-of-a-kind. All plates are made using non-toxic, food-safe clays and glazes. They are microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe. I particularly recommend minimizing the contact of the unglazed surfaces of your ceramics with foods or drinks that may cause staining.
