I create this handmade rustic plate collection from black clay, inspired by the raw textures of Ottoman copper shallow bowls. These plates, which can be used to serve foods such as pasta, appetizers, and breakfast items, are made entirely using hand-rolled, shaped, and burnished clay slabs, and achieve their final appearance through a manual distressing process. Therefore, no two pieces are exactly alike.
More pieces and colors will be added to the collection seasonally.
Care for Your Rustic Plates
All plates are handmade. For this reason, slight variations in size, shape, color, and glaze may occur compared to what you see in the pictures, making each piece unique and one of a kind. All plates are made using non-toxic, food-safe clays and glazes. They are suitable for microwave use and are dishwasher safe. I specifically recommend minimizing the contact of the unglazed surfaces of your ceramics with foods or drinks that might cause staining.
