I create this collection of handmade rustic plates from black clay, inspired by the raw textures of Ottoman copper shallow bowls (sahan). These plates, which you can use for serving dishes such as pasta, appetizers, or breakfast items, are made using clay slabs that are entirely hand-rolled, shaped, and burnished, achieving their final appearance through manual distressing. Therefore, no two pieces are exactly alike.
More pieces and colors will be added to the collection seasonally.
Care for Your Rustic Plates
All plates are handmade. For this reason, slight variations in size, shape, color, and glaze may occur compared to what you see in the pictures, making each piece unique and one-of-a-kind. All plates are made using non-toxic, food-safe clays and glazes. They are microwave-safe and dishwasher-safe. I recommend that you minimize contact, especially of the unglazed surfaces of your ceramics, with staining foods or beverages.
